Amethyst and Quartz Beaded Necklace & Earring Set

I selected a lovely raw, unpolished amethyst crystal point as the focal bead for this necklace. I paired it with faceted diamond shaped and 4 mm spherical amethyst beads and 4 mm spherical quartz beads. The beaded necklace and earrings are finished with sterling silver findings.

The earrings dangle 1 3/16 inches below the loop of the sterling silver kidney ear wires. The amethyst focal bead is an inch long and 1/2 inch at its widest. The faceted amethyst diamond shaped beads are about 1/2 inch long and 3/8 inches wide. The length of the necklace is about 22 inches.

Amethyst is February's birthstone. The amethyst beads I selected are a lovely dark purple, tending towards the blue side of purple until they are in strong light when they take on a slightly reddish purple tint.
