Toned Paper Sketch of Smiling Grungy Child

#inktober is a yearly event where artists of all sorts draw a daily prompt in ink for the month of October. The challenge is to draw every day and practice using a medium that is permanent. You can sketch your drawing in pencil first, but once you touch the ink to the paper, it's there.

Day 16's prompt is Grungy. I drew a dirty and disheveled smiling Palestinian child for this prompt. They are hiding in the tent fabric but are excited and smiling for a moment with the photographer, showing the innate human resilience and joy in the darkest of times.
