Handmade notebook with block printed cover

Liven up your day-to-day life with a small handmade notebook with a unique block print on the cover. These make lovely gifts for your favorite writer or artist (who can also be yourself :)).

Each notebook is 5.5 inches x 4.25 inches and filled with unlined 80 lb text-weight paper, which holds up well to pens, pencils, and some markers! Covers are a slightly heavier card stock paper with a hand-carved block print on the front.

Each is extremely unique - the color of the cover, the stamp on the cover, the color of the paper inside, the number of pages, the color of thread, the type of thread, and where I put the Piep Press stamp on the back cover (mainly inside vs. outside)! This level of chaos is due to my on-the-fly print and book making, but I hope to be more steady in the future :)

CORN

All are hunter green covers with a light, spring green block print of a corn cob mid-peel!

• A. has 40 pages of light brown paper, bound with dark unlined thread and includes a faint, slightly purple Piep Press stamp on the inside back cover.
• B. has 20 pages of cream paper, bound with orange beeswax-lined linen thread and includes a black Piep Press stamp on the outside back cover.

DEATH’S HEAD

All include a block print of the top of a 17th century gravestone in light blue/green ink and are filled with 20 pages of cream paper.

• A. has a hunter green cover with a Death’s Head print on both sides of the outside cover and is bound with purple beeswax-lined linen thread. The Piep Press stamp is on the inside back cover in black.
• B & C both have textured deep purple covers and are bound with orange beeswax-lined linen thread. The Piep Press stamp is on the outside cover in silver.
• D. has a hunter green cover and is bound with purple beeswax-lined linen thread. The Piep Press stamp is on the outside cover in silver.

ECHINACEA

A pastel teal block print of an Echinacea flower on light sage cover paper, with 20 pages of cream paper bound with purple beeswax thread. There’s a Piep Press stamp on the on outside back cover in black.

GARLIC

All include a block print of a beautiful bulb of garlic on the cover. The insides include 20 pages of cream paper. The Piep Press stamp is in black.

• A. has a deep teal cover with a slightly lighter blue/green Garlic than the others and is bound with dark unlined thread. The Piep Press logo is on the inside cover.
• B, C, & D have hunter green covers with slightly brighter green/blue Garlics. They are bound with orange beeswax-lined linen thread. The Piep Press logo is on the outside cover of these.

PUMPKIN

These are all the same: deep teal covers with light blue block print of a jaunty little pumpkin (though B is a bit more blue and blends in more). They are 20 pages of cream paper bound with beeswax-lined orange linen thread. The Piep Press stamp is on the outside back cover in black.

SKELETON KEY

All include a block print of a haunting skeleton key. 

• A. has a dark grey cover with the key print in bright green ink. It is bound with purple beeswax-lined linen thread with 20 pages of creme paper. The Piep Press stamp is on the outside back cover in silver.
• B. has a textured deep purple cover with the key print in silver ink. It is bound with black beeswax-lined linen thread with 20 pages of light blue paper that just slightly goes past the cover pages. The Piep Press stamp is silver and in the inside back cover.
• C. has a hunter green cover with the key in silver ink. It is bound with a dark unlined thread with 40 pages of cream paper. The Piep Press stamp is on the inside cover and is a light grey with a bit of silver in it.

CAT 

• A. has a print that is much more “stealth” than B. - the magic of hand printing! I made a mistake with the Piep Press stamp - I put it vertically vs. horizontally so it doesn’t match the orientation of the cover. 

CLOUD

These are essentially the same, give or take the whole hand printing and binding something. There’s a block print of a swirly cloud in bright turquoise that centers on the spine so you’ll get some cloud on both sides of the notebook. They are bound with orange beeswax lined linen thread and include 20 pages of cream paper. There’s a Piep Press stamp on the back left corner in dark purple. 

SNOWFLAKES

These are essentially the same, give or take the whole hand printing and binding something. There’s a block print of snowflakes on the front cover in a bright turquoise. They are bound with white hemp twine (beeswax was used sparingly just to make the twine work with me) and include 20 pages of cream paper. There’s a Piep Press stamp on the back in dark purple.
