Jizo heart girl of love and care, Shinto raku sculpture

Here is another girl Shinto Jizo statue, and this one feels just overflowing with love and kindness. I think she would be perfect for a kamidana or shrine if you need gentle care in your life and a friend to remind you that you'll be ok. And give you a hug!

She's made of stoneware clay, fired once, glazed for peace and tranquility, and then raku fired for the beautiful effects of smoke and flame. This Jizo —or maybe she is Buddha — is 3.6cm tall.

Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.

Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic material.
