Sparkly Little Natural Pyrite Drops on Sterling Silver Hooks

Little "onion" drops (that's really what this shape is called!) of microfaceted, highly polished pyrite are topped with sterling silver caps and wired to handmade sterling silver ear wires in these delightfully sparkly little earrings. 

Pyrite, once known jokingly as "fool's gold," is becoming a popular gemstone in its own right due to its edgy dark metallic color. It's not quite like any other metal color. Since I can't match it, I've used contrasting .935 Argentium sterling silver for the wire and ear wires for a mixed-metal look. Argentium is a bit harder and more tarnish resistant than regular .925 sterling, and contains even more actual silver. It's also hypoallergenic for most wearers with metal sensitivities. The bead caps are .925 sterling silver.

You can use a silver cleaning liquid like Hagerty Silversmiths' Polish, but please avoid  getting any cleaning chemicals on the stones.
