Compact espresso tamping station for 54mm portafilters (Breville/Sage)

This tamping station is designed to work with 54mm portafilters, such as those used by Breville/Sage espresso machines.

They are printed in PETG, the same material used to produce many plastic beverage containers, making them moisture-resistant and robust.

It comes in two versions, one to hold just the portafilter, and one with a storage slot for the tamper and funnel. I personally use the portafilter-only version and keep it on a separate silicone tamping mat.

The portafilter holder is specifically designed to hold the factory portafilter, but also has a set screw that allows adjusting to fit a wide variety of third-party ones, such as the bottomless portafilter that I use. Due to the wide variation in portafilters on the market, you may need to add an additional shim (such as a rubber foot or dab of hot glue) to the top of the set screw, or provide your own longer M2 screw.

The 2-slot version can accommodate a funnel with an outer diameter of up to 78mm. However, I can print custom one-off versions for a larger funnel if necessary; let me know your requirements and I'll see about accommodating you!
