Small Fused Glass Votives - Geometric Patterns
This is an experiment in making votives with geometric. Now this mere mortal can’t afford a Wazer (a water jet cutter). I suppose I could cut each colored piece out with a ring saw but the whole sawing/grinding/assembly process would take forever and I’d have to charge a 100 bucks for a couple of teeny votives. So I came up with a couple of patterns and 3D printed forms to hold the different colored Frits. Once all the pockets are filled in, I remove the forms, the frit stays in place, and I fuse the blanks for the votives. Once those are fused I grind the edges, fire polish the blanks, and drape the blanks using votive molds.
These votives can handle candles/tea lights up to 1.5 inches in diameter. They measure approx. 3.25 square by 2.25 inches tall.
