Handmade mixed media sketchbook

These 60 page hardback mixed media sketchbooks make wonderful gifts and are meant to be used in whatever way you see fit - none of that "oh, this is too precious to use!" They are made with 100 lb. card stock (Starch White Speckletone from French Paper - white with little flecks of purple!) and can handle watercolors, gouache, ink, markers, etc. and with the coptic method of book binding - the pages lay flat! There is no spine so you are able to see the beautiful binding stitches and edges of paper.

Grey

This one is 5.5x7" with a cool grey cloth cover bound horizontally with blue-ish periwinkle hemp thread (beeswax was used sparingly just to help me thread the needle!). The endpapers are a sage green with prints of white florals. The Piep Press stamp, in purple, is on the back endpaper corner.

Brown

This one is 5x7" with a warm brown cloth cover bound horizontally with a pastel hemp thread with colors that change as the thread goes on - it makes a super fun spine and a little surprise when you get to the middle of a signature and get to see the inner seams and their variations! I treated the ends of the hemp with beeswax to help thread the needle. The endpapers are navy with whimsical white prints of animals in a folksy style. The Piep Press stamp is on the back endpaper, almost blending in. The "Second" in the title is I messed up attaching the back cover. You might not notice it but I know so I'm giving it a little discount.

Green

This one is 5x7" with a lime green cloth cover bound vertically with a hemp thread with colors that change as the thread goes on - it makes a super fun spine and a little surprise when you get to the middle of a signature and get to see the inner seams and their variations!
