Genuine Kingman turquoise from Arizona is cut into rustic flat teardrop shapes and set with .935 sterling silver in these one-of-a-kind earrings. The Kingman turquoise mine produces ethically sourced turquoise that ranks among the world's finest. It's also notable for its incredible variety. The stones here are a rich sky blue, with contrasting brown matrix. Each polished stone has a faint trace of green on one side, showing that they were cut from the same piece of turquoise. This Southwestern earring style - slices of turquoise mounted on hook ear wires - is sometimes called Santo Domingo (perhaps after the Santo Domingo Pueblo jewelry makers in New Mexico) and sometimes "tab" or "slab" earrings. I've put them on handmade sterling silver ear wires. Simple and becoming, they're perfect everyday earrings and would make a wonderful gift for someone who loves turquoise, or jewelry that makes you feel connected to the earth.

Store in a way that will avoid scratching by other jewels or anything sharp -- for example, on an earring tree, in a little plastic bag inside a jewelry box, or in a hanging jewelry organizer.
