This letterpress print is a slight rewording of a quote from Lynda Barry's Syllabus. The quote wasoriginally about the nature of drawing but I think it applies to art in general so I made it so :) This is a great affirmation for any artist or creative-type for their office or studio wall!
It's printed in a shiny light blue ink on a sturdy, smooth slightly off-white 9.75 x 5.5" piece of paper. Thanks to the nature of letterpress, you can see and feel the imprint on the back side (also probably including some ink from the other pages stacked underneath as I was printing!). The print is signed and dated on the bottom right with a print number on the back.
This was hand assembled and printed by me with a mix of antique and newer type and ornaments at Scale House Print Shop in Hartford, VT on a 1913 Chandler & Price printing press with a limited run of 15.
Due to the nature of letterpress printing, each print is going to look a little different. Not only is each print a unique piece, but there will not be any others made just like that - it’s impossible and honestly, quite mad to even consider it.
