The Design:
Matey is the result of a artistic collaboration between Desert Island Toys and 2D Fantasy Silicone Designer, PolyAnaMoose (Designs / BlueSky).
Size:
Matey comes in one size. Please refer to the pictures for the dimensions.
Firmness Options:
Firm (10A) – Firm like a tensed muscle — a little squish, but not much. However Matey is quite thin at the top, so this is a good option in our opinion.
Medium (00-50) – Softer, offering a balance of support and flexibility — like a firm cushion.
** Because Matey is relatively thin, Firm is the recommended firmness, but Medium is still offered for those who prefer it. **
Refer to the product pictures to see our whole colour palette. For custom-made Mateys we can probably make most colours you might be interested in, and if not, with some patience we can procure the necessary pigments. I can't guarantee exact colour matches, but will do my best. If you're seeking something different from the options presented, drop us an email at desertislandtoys@protonmail.com and we'll work with you to find you your perfect Matey.
You have three options above for how you'd like us to colour your toy:
1) "1 Solid Colour" means exactly that - we will colour the Matey the same colour from tip to base.
2) "2 Colour Split" means we will make the peg one colour, and the base another colour. We'll do our best to make a sharp transition between those two elements, but it's not guaranteed to be perfect - silicone is a fickle beast.
3) "Hand-Painted" is the most customized colour option available - your artisan will carefully mix up to five colours of silicone and hand-paint them into the mold over the five distinct Matey elements (refer to the pictures - they explain it well enough). This option comes at a premium as it is the most time consuming.
In all cases we will reach out to you by email for your colour choices after your purchase, unless you choose above for the artisan to pick the colours.
Materials Used:
At Desert Island Toys, your safety is our top priority. We craft our toys using platinum cure silicone, a material known for its skin-safety and non-toxicity, with industry certifications to back it up. To colour our silicone, we use only cosmetic-grade mica and certified skin-safe silicone pigments. We are committed to ethical sourcing, and our mica is always procured from suppliers who guarantee that no child labour is involved at any stage of the production process, including mining, processing, and transportation.
SHIPPING:
Our products are handmade with care in Canada, and we ship from there too. Please note that if you're purchasing from outside Canada, your country may apply additional duties and/or taxes/tariffs on delivery. These charges are beyond our control and are the buyer's responsibility to pay upon receipt.
Discreet Packaging:
Rest assured, we ship in plain, unmarked cardboard boxes. We aim to keep everything discreet – the return sender will be listed as "DIT" to ensure privacy. No company logos will appear on the outside of the packaging.
For international shipments, we prefer to submit customs declarations electronically, meaning the package will have no description of the contents. If we must attach a physical customs declaration, we'll describe the item as a "Silicone Sculpture" to maintain discretion.
