Mendeleev Catena from Earth's Moon in Poplar, Resin, and Cherry

Few of my carvings evoke a name while working on them. This is one of them. The name, Dimensional Breach, refers to the maroon and brown-to-black tear dominating the normally staid poplar piece. This central streak is aligned with a 3D model of Catena Mendeleev, a string of small craters housed within the larger Mendeleev Crater on the far side of the Moon. The result is a striking juxtaposition mounted on a rough-hewn piece of solid cherry. One of my personal favorites.
