These modern earrings have so much going on! The posts feature a bezel set somewhat matching pair of color change Imperial Malaya garnets. These 4mm round brilliant cut stones weigh 0.64 carats total combined and are cut from a rare type of garnet called pyrospessartite which is a combination of pyrope and spessartine that form a solid solution, this mix is where the name "Malaya" comes from. These stones can be a medium pink to a tanish champagne color depending on the lighting, and if you are lucky enough to still have incandescent light bulbs after the ban then you will be able to see these stones turn a nice magenta (see the 2nd photo). From these rare garnets drop freshwater keshi pearls that have not been color enhanced (a keshi pearl is a pearl that grew without man seeding it and is solid nacre) and 2.29 carats total weight of slightly mismatched pink tourmaline crystal pieces from Afghanistan, all accented with tiny Hill Tribe saucer beads. All solid sterling silver these earrings are a total of 1 7/8 inch in length. A true pair of statement earrings and a genuine one of kind. January's birthstone is garnet, June's alternate birthstone is pearl, and tourmaline is the alternate birthstone for November. Whoa, if your had children born in all three of those months these would such an awesome pair of "mother's" earrings! These earrings will come with a polishing cloth to keep the silver bright :)
