Tiger's Eye Year of the Dragon Beaded Necklace & Earring Set

This inspiration for this jewelry set was the Year of the Dragon, which 2024 is according to the Chinese zodiac. However, you don't have to have been born in the year of the dragon to fall in love with this golden beauty.

The tigers eye focal bead is a smooth tigers eye sphere that was carved with a dragon chasing a chi ball. The recessed, carved area was then colored gold. The other components that I used to create the Y style necklace are faceted tigers eye beads and amber colored faceted crystal beads. Most of the tigers eye is the classic brown and gold color, however some beads have hints of naturally occurring variations of red and blue. I used faceted tigers eye and amber crystal beads to make the matching earrings.

The earrings dangle about 7/8 of an inch below the loop of the gold plated ear wires. The dragon emblazoned focal bead is 20mm in diameter. The faceted tigers eye, flattened spheres range from 8mm to 14mm. The length of the necklace is about 28 inches, not including the Y drop, which is about 2 inches long. All findings used in this set, including the pearl safety clasp are gold plated.
